NICE TO MEET YOU!
INTRODUCING SOME MEMBERS

It is now time to meet the people behind the boxes at the back of the hall and the voices behind the receivers...our translators.  We have six of them on board in this Chapter and the only “thorn among the roses” is Roland Douchin.  Roland is from Annemasse in France, a place near the French Alps.  He is known to many members of the Chevalier Family because he is the Cor Novum Office Manager.    He was also at the recently concluded MSC General Chapter in Madrid serving as translator from English to French.   Roland’s wish is that you, the followers of the blog, may also have a taste of what’s cooking here at the Chapter.  Through this blog, may you also see the colours and hear the sounds that we are enjoying here in the Philippines.

WHAT’S GOING ON?

The Chapter Steering Committee is now complete with the election of Sr. Raymonde Gasser from France and Sr. Marife Mendoza from the Philippines last Friday morning.  The Steering Committee meets every evening and is composed of Sr. Mary F., Sr. Bernadette, Sr. Raymonde and Sr. Marife with Sr. Micheline, Chapter Facilitator.  Let us keep them in our prayers.

You must be wondering about the Liturgies in the Chapter.  Well, so far we have had very inspiring, moving and truly creative morning liturgies and Eucharistic Celebrations.  Each day, the Provinces and Regions take turns in preparing and leading these liturgies except for the liturgies at the opening and closing of the Chapter which is prepared by the Liturgy Team.  On the 17th, we had Australia and on the 18th Ireland.  PNG led Liturgies yesterday and Brazil was the one in charge of today’s prayers. With these beautiful liturgies at the beginning and end of each day, we are experiencing the Chapter as it is, a Spiritual Event!

As promised, here are some of the comments and reactions we received from you:

Matilde

-  Gostei muito da logo. Achei significativo pois contempla a universalidade do nosso carisma.

" EIS AQUI A SERVA DO SENHOR" Sua disposição indica dinamismo e ela toca praticamente todos os continentes indicando a nossa divisa, AMETUR.

- As I look at the official logo of the Chapter I see most powerfully the Holy Spirit hovering over all.. The red arrows showing our efforts are small and separated! The Holy Spirit breathes life into all.

- The logo.  Mary looks young, energetic, enthusiastic and "on the go".  If this is the spirit of the Chapter and passed on to us we shall move into the future with great trust and full of the Spirit She has.

The representation of "the Daughter" in the logo is so obviously renewed so that in complete trust and hope she can now set forth...though not seeing her journey's end, she still cofidently journeys on...Actually the energy of the logo, its sense of purpose and mission truly reflects "renewal" and going forth. It did actually serve as inspiration for my request to return to South Sudan...It confirmed for me, the renewed energy I've regained and provided an invitation to join in the vigorous stepping forth into mission once again.

Rita

The choice of Mary of the Visitation as the image overlaying the motto gathers our charism together beautifully.   Not only does it capture "the first missionary of His love"  reaching out to another in need but it recalls the meeting of Jesus and John - the latter leaping in the womb at the recognition of the Saviour.  As an evangelical moment Mary also utters the magnificat praising and thanking God for His goodness ... another underlying attitude of our vocation as Daughters.  The last reflection I had was to do with the sacred song  The Visit.  United with Mary IT IS CHRIST THAT WE CARRY EVERYWHERE ...
