Prayer in preparation

for the General Chapter

Heavenly Father,

we thank you for calling us to follow your Son, Jesus,

in proclaiming and witnessing your love to all peoples.

May our hearts be full of courage and our spirits full of joy

as we take the Gospel message to our world.

Lord Jesus,

as Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart,

we pray earnestly for the grace to be open and receptive

to your transforming love at work within us

at this time of our General Chapter

and revision of our Constitutions.

We long to be reinvigorated in mind and heart

so that we will go forth with renewed energy

to bring your compassionate and saving love

to the situations of deep concern in the world today.

Mary, our Mother,

alive with the Spirit,

you set out in haste to the hill country

to help your cousin, Elizabeth.

Teach us to be willing and eager to be Christ-bearers to others

 so that the warmth and power of His love

will touch and heal every kind of need.
